Breakfast at the hotel. We will begin the day with a guided tour of the main historical and cultural attractions of the Historic Center of Lima. We will visit emblematic spaces such as the Exhibition Park, Plaza Grau, Paseo de los Héroes Navales, Plaza San Martín, Plaza de Armas, the Government Palace and the Cathedral of Lima. In addition, we will enter the famous Catacombs of the Convent of San Francisco, a place steeped in history that preserves underground passages and colonial ossuaries. We will continue to the Miraflores district, where we will appreciate from the outside the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca archaeological sanctuary in the shape of a pyramid that survived the urban growth of the capital and constitutes one of the 54 complexes of this type in Lima. Later, we will tour the Historic Center of Lima, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1991, which was the nucleus of the Spanish colony in the 16th century and today houses more than 600 historical monuments of the time. Upon arrival in the city of Cusco, our staff will greet you and take you to the hotel. There, you can enjoy traditional coca tea, known for its properties to help acclimatize to altitude, since Cusco is located at an average of 3,400 meters above sea level. After check-in, our team will provide you with all the necessary information about the most important tourist spots, along with a map of the city. You will also receive recommendations on restaurants, exchange offices, shops and other useful services. From 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. We will take a tour of the Historic Center with our local guide to discover the main places of interest in Cusco (free service only for Viagens Machu Picchu clients). In the afternoon we will carry out the Archaeological City Tour, whose first stop will be the Temple of Qoricancha, known as the Golden Wall or Temple of the Sun, ancient place of worship to the god Inti. The tour will continue to the Sacsayhuamán fortress, famous for its enormous carved stone walls and for being the scene of the Inti Raymi; Then we will advance towards Qenqo, a ceremonial center linked to rituals of a mystical nature, and further towards Puka Pukara, a military complex that fulfilled strategic control functions. Finally, we will arrive at Tambomachay, also called “the baths of the Inca”, where crystal clear water still flows through canals and fountains. Before concluding the tour, we will visit a special place to enjoy free time with llamas and alpacas, as well as the possibility of purchasing local products.
